What is a Cockapoo?

How big do Cockapoos get and how much do they weigh?

A Teacup Cockapoo will typically weigh around 6 pounds and be less than 10 inches high. A Toy Cockapoo will typically weigh between 6-12 pounds and be about 10 inches high. A Miniature Cockapoo will weigh 13-18 pounds and be between 11-14 inches high. A Maxi Cockapoo will weigh 19 pounds or more and be 15 inches or taller.

What does F1B or F2 mean?

An F1 Cockapoo is a cross between a full-bred Cocker Spaniel and a full-bred Poodle.

F1-B is a cross between an F1 Cockapoo and a Poodle. This type will favor the Poodle more with its wavy or curly coat and will most likely be non-shedding and allergy friendly.

F2 is a cross between an F1 Cockapoo and another F1 Cockapoo. This type will resemble most closely the F1 type with variations depending on the individual parents’ appearance.

Are Cockapoos hypoallergenic?

There is no type of dog that is truly hypoallergenic. Since Cockapoos are a mix of two breeds, it is difficult to predict which parent’s coat your dog will inherit. While it is not a guarantee, many pet parents of Poodle mix dogs have found that allergic reactions are not as common around these types of dogs.
